Q. What is the purpose of a skincare facial treatment?
A. A skincare facial treatment is recommended and ideal for everyone. The basic premise of a facial is to help improve your complexion, even out your skin tone, and remove dead skin. The deep pore cleansing qualities of a facial not only hydrates your skin, but detoxifies and stimulates the skin while increasing blood circulation. What this does is simply slow down premature aging and alleviates wrinkles, all while providing an overall relaxing and soothing experience.
Q. Could I get a reaction from a skincare facial treatment?
A. It is possible that an allergic reaction may occur if a product is used that contains an ingredient that you may be allergic to. This happens very rarely, however, it is very important that you notify me of any and all possible allergies you may have. This will ensure the best experience possible with each visit.
Q. What can I expect during a skincare facial treatment?
A. When you arrive to your 1st visit, you will be asked to fill out a consultation form. This informs me if you are on any medications as well as to which skincare facial is best recommended for you. Most skincare facials consist of a deep cleanse using steam, exfoliation, and extractions with a skin analysis. Combined with a mini-facial massage, facial mask, and hydration, you will no longer feel the facial tension associated to stress. All facials are uniquely customized to target your specific skincare needs.
Q. How often should I get a skincare facial treatment?
A. Facials are recommended once a month to help aid in the cell turn over process which happens approximately every 30 days. As we age, this cell turn over process slows down, contributing to fine lines, wrinkles, blackheads, congestion, and coarsely textured skin. Monthly facials assist your face and skin in doing more efficiently what it’s “supposed" to do on its own.
Q. Will my skin be red or irritated after my skincare facial treatment?
A. Slight redness is normal after a skincare facial, especially if you've received a large amount of extractions. Slight skin irritation should not continue for more than a few hours after your skincare treatment. Certain skin types, including those who tend to be more sensitive, may be prone to experiencing more redness, longer, post treatment.
Q. How can I maintain professional skincare results at home on a daily basis?
A. A skincare regimen is definitely recommended as the skin needs constant nourishment for maintenance and long lasting results.
Q. Which facial is right for me?
A. Please view my SkinCare service menu to read a full description of all the facial and specialized treatments available. The most beneficial facial can be chosen and customized specifically for you and your particular skincare needs the day of your 1st visit.
Q. Can I receive a facial waxing such as an eyebrow or lip wax on the same day as my facial?
A. Yes! Waxing is always done first, prior to your facial, for the up most comfort and safety of your skin. Any areas waxed will be carefully avoided during your facial exfoliation so as to not further irritate the skin.
Q. Do men get facials too?
A. I like to call them skin detox's, but yes, absolutely! Facials are very beneficial for men, and can help reduce skin sensitivity from shaving as well as other concerns from lack of proper at-home skincare. Family members, boyfriends, grooms and husbands-to-be… it's recommended for all men. For those of you who have a skin detox appointment, it is recommended that you do not shave immediately before your facial, as this can lead to further irritation.
